Hello, I am new in the forum Smiley

Well, I have to tell Ive been TRYING to make this work for about 3 days and dont know where the problem is. Read almos every single post.

I am stuck at the very beginning. Not familiar with php.
Working on osx, php 5.

Have followed all instructions andnothing. No email, no .txt.

I test if php is running and I get the table of contents.

I am just testing in locally.

Can we just start from the very beginning to make this work for me?  Please please please.

First of all I set all "http://... " to my local ip address, also tried localhost.
Open selectecard.php in firefox and get this text in a white browser.

> ">   " quality=high bgcolor=#FFFFFF TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash"> > ">   " quality=high bgcolor=#FFFFFF TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash">

Please, somebody help me to figure it out, I would reaaaaaaaaaaaally appreciate it.

Nat

email cannot work localy, unless you have a mailserver running on your machine, which I doubt.

.txt files can only be created, if the guest user has the rights to create files in that directory.

If you run it localy, you allways need to run it through localhost, otherwise the php files are not executed correctly and though communication does not work.

Any sample writing mails need a hosting service allowing to send mails via script.

So, if you are looking for a hoster, ask this first.

my txt folder has all permissions for everyone to write on it.

I run it through http://localhost/~username/ecards/

again, thanks Smiley

you definately will not be able to send any mails.
Sending mails by script allways needs a mailserver to be running.

If you want to run an application sending mails, you need a hosting provider beeing connected to the interned and running a mailserver, which is accessible by script.
