By default videos are not downloable ... anyway is easy to download any video that is not streamed (from a streaming server) and i.e there are a ton of plgins to download YoutTube videos. So if your goal is video protection, consider use a Streaming server (FMS, Wowza, Red 5) instead of a progressive download.

I have writed in PHP, and can say that it works as it's. Translation to other back-end languages are outside my domain ... anyway, the PHP script just output the content of a directory as an XML, open directly the aspx page and check that you get the correct XML

Working fine, not downloads on Firefox 3.5 and IE 7 ... are you sure you don't have some kind of plugin (very popular since YouTube) for download FLV files?

If the user have a plugin to catch FLV files, there's nothing you can do to prevent any FLV player to work except to add some disclaimer giving an advice to disallow if they want to see videos online (anyway usually they use to download any video local) The same happens with some mp3 players and other plugins. Try avoiding the .flv extension for the files in the XML

The gallery use a MediaPlayer component to play videos, and MediaPlayer component only works with FLV, not with swf
