Hi all,

I'm new around here, I made a website for a friend of mine, he should have full control of al the text on the website, the problem is, he's very old and don't know that much about editing the XML/text files and uploading this again to update the text on the website.

Kaai 14

My question, is that possible to have an online application where he can edit the variables values and update the text on the website? If yes can you tell me where to find a tutorial?

Thx you all

you are thinking of a CMS like system?
Does it need to be Flash driven?

With the know how you can gain from the loading and saving tutorials, you can mange about everything - it just takes some time.

If you want to work yourself into a modern CMS, look into Drupal. There you can enhance with flash as well.

But everything takes some learning first.

Hi Ronald,

Actually it doesn't to be Flash driven (it would be cool to know how to do this but ...), here what I did, I looked for a ftp manager program (Smart FTP) and I found out that you can edit the files directly from the ftp! I really don't need more than that.  Smiley

Ok, I know it downloads the file on a "Temp" memory but it do that by it self, very cool.

Hei Ronald thx for your question!!!  Wink

Thx.

But still he has to edit html files.
Maybe right now a CMS os overkill, but he might find it nice, and finaly rights blog, uploads picturers etc Wink

And at the end might even have some flash content Cheesy

Benefits are: he can edit text without knowing any html, and it still looks good.
