I am fairly new to using Flash with web services, but have been creating server side applications that consume web services (with both NuSoap and ASP.NET) for a while now.

I just finished the translator tutorial, which I thought was very good, but it left me with a few questions.

1. Can Flash consume XML? If so...

2. If my web service is on the same server as the SWF file, can the flash movie consume the SOAP response directly, without the intermediate PHP file.

BTW, if anyone is interested, I converted the PHP for the translate tutorial into ASP.NET. I'll gladly give it to anyone who would like to see it.
