Many very talented and gifted students have trouble with the material on the AP Calculus AB examination. It is one of the toughest exams that high school students are ever asked to take- a comprehensive exam on the material covered in the first quarter or semester of college calculus.

And some students are able to solve complicated mathematica constructions, but cannot calculate a simple percentage.
If there is no complex function doing the job, they are stranded.
