Sounds fantastic.  I've sent my latest code to Alessandro and Klaasjan Tukker.  This should be a great starting point for the project.  I've tried to keep the features in synch with flash remoting.  The version features a gateway and loads of data types, including record sets (not pageable yet, but that seems possible).  Errors are even handled and reported back to the client via the onStatus event and a detailed error info object.  There is still tons to do and I look forward to working with everyone. Sounds Great!
I'll add you to the Administrators/Developers list as soon as the project is accepted.  I'll be changing me status to Developer/Documentation as soon as the project's going - I just thought the sooner we get this project going, the better.

It should be an interesting/rewarding project for all those involved.  I think the most important aspect will be coming up with standards (ie easy ways for the rest of us to write tutorials/ariticals that are consistant).  If we have like 20 versions of this that are all slightly different - it will turn out bad - but if we can form some consistancy and easy way's for people new to the process to learn it - It will turn out great!

I'll send out an email to everyone that's interested as soon as it's accepted.  If possible - send me an email at Jeff@flash-db.com so I have everyone's email.

Looks good.

I've been discussing with Justin, Alessandro and Musicman. The results of some code merges have been put in my local CVS waiting for a sourceforge approval. Appart from the flash-db request to SF, i filed a project as well called amfphp . If one of two are accepted: amfphp / amfdata , I can move the files, which are currently on :

* CVS view: http://klaasjan.tukker.org/horde2/chora/cvs.php/amf/flashservices?login=2
* ZIP: http://klaasjan.tukker.org/stories/amfphp/flashservices.zip

In this codebase, some examples are added for the usage of the package.

And another one ;-)

Personally, I think AMF - PHP covers more than AMF - DATA ...

let's do a polll ;-)

Your project registration for SourceForge.net has been approved.

Project Descriptive Name:  AMF - PHP (aka Flash Remoting for PHP)
Project Unix Name:  amfphp
CVS Server:         cvs.amfphp.sourceforge.net
Shell/Web Server:   amfphp.sourceforge.net

Your DNS will take up to a day to become active on our site.
While waiting for your DNS to resolve, you may try shelling into
shell.sourceforge.net and pointing CVS to cvs.sourceforge.net.

If after 6 hours your shell/CVS accounts still do not work, please
open a support ticket so that we may take a look at the problem.
Please note that all shell/CVS accounts are closed to telnet and only
work with SSH1.

Your web site is accessible through your shell account. Please read
site documentation (see link below) about intended usage, available
services, and directory layout of the account.

Please take some time to read the site documentation about project
administration (http://sourceforge.net/docs/site/). If you visit your
own project page in SourceForge.net while logged in, you will find
additional menu functions to your left labeled 'Project Admin'.

We highly suggest that you now visit SourceForge.net and create a public
description for your project. This can be done by visiting your project
page while logged in, and selecting 'Project Admin' from the menus
on the left (or by visiting https://sourceforge.net/project/admin/?group_id=72483
after login).

Your project will also not appear in the Trove Software Map (primary
list of projects hosted on SourceForge.net which offers great flexibility in
browsing and search) until you categorize it in the project administration
screens. So that people can find your project, you should do this now.
Visit your project while logged in, and select 'Project Admin' from the
menus on the left.

Enjoy the system, and please tell others about SourceForge.net. Let us know
if there is anything we can do to help you.

After a small poll, between the amfphp/amfdata crew, amfphp came out as the unixname for the projects wich covers the material. So the sourceforge project to take will be:

amfphp.

So take a look at:

http://amfphp.sf.net/

and

http://sourceforge.net/projects/amfphp

The pages still need to be putted online. First I will throw the current files into the CVS of sf.

Klaasjan

P.S. I will contact SF to remove the project amfdata . I already moved over all the people to amfphp.

Ok sounds good.

I'm still not sure what the best name is.  Are we only going to do this for PHP - what about Java, C++, Perl, Python, etc.  I know most of us are mainly php developers - but there is room for other languages - which amfdata would sound better.

I think this question is mostly left to Musicman however?  Thoughts.

Anyways looks good overall.  I'll see what I can get done on this tonight.

I'm also a fan of Python.. in these days I'm studying it a lot and i'm enjoying my little apps a lot..
but i think others language should open different and stand-alone projects.
First to avoid confusing developers and users.. and also because we will provide a framework for a specific platform which has its own stuff and problems.. (php differewnt from python, java..)
