Hi Mazhar!
There is no reason not using a scripting language. Is there?

You definately need some kind of middleware to do the communication, unless you generate static XML-Files, which can be directly read into flash. But this limits the amount of data Wink

Ya you r right but actually i m talikng this because i want to connect my swf with database directly like we can do in VB or C++. I m asking this question for my Desktop app not for an internet portal. As we can directly connect to SQL,Oracle or MS ACCESS from our  .exe file which was designed in VB. I want that type of connection in my swf for a project which is given to me which is intranet based.

Hi Mazhar,
if it is an intranet application, you still have a webserver running, where you can run scripts on.
Flash is not that kind of application tool. It allways needs middleware of any kind.
It could be an VisualBasic Application, which does the communication.
There are some benefits of having the busineslogic centralized at a server. Wink
