Nice tutorial! My problem is when I click 'submit', it reads "processing...loading new..." and then reverts back to "No More Entries". Any idea what could be causing this? Thanks. Huh

This means that the GuestBook.php script is working.  But it can not find the Text file with the GuestBook entries in it.  And/Or you are not writing the new submissions to the guestbook.txt file.

Have you changed the name of GuestBook.txt.
Did you change the location of the GuestBook.txt file
Did you change the permissions of GuestBook.txt

Are you able to write to this file.

Try typing in the full path the GuestBook.txt in the browser and see if their are any guestbook entries in it.

This is probably a Path or Permissions issue.  If you can provide any more details I can try to answer this question better.

Thanks Jeff, I'm using Notepad to create the empty txt file. Properties are set with a checkmark next to  "Archive". "Read only" and "hidden" both remain unchecked. The Name of the file is the same as in the PHP file, but I tried plugging in the complete uRL of the txt location into the PHP file, but it still made no difference. The PHP will not write to the txt document. Does this clarify at all? Thanks,  Smiley

No real point to this post Since we already got it cleared up over IM.  But anyways for anybody needing future reference:

To change the permissions of a file you can use your ftp program.  Either Cute_ftp or Ws_ftp works well.

Find the CHMOD option.  Then check off all the boxes under the column headings (Owner, Group, Other) - Their will be 3 options for each - Read, Write, Execute.  By checking off all the boxes you will change the file permissions to 777 - which is the least restrictive.  You may want to just change the permissions to 666 however - You can do this by checking off all of the Read and Write checkboxes under Owner, Group, Other.
