Hello guys.

I am looking for someone who would be willing to help me, for a reasonable price, to build a chat/live support application in flash.

Basically, I need all the chat interface to be in one swf file that will be located either bellow the web page or loaded into it + scripts.

On the visitor's end:
It will feature an indicator if the administrator is online and if he can receive messages, in which case the visitor would submit his name and send a request for chat. If the administrator can't take the call it would redirect him to a waiting list or a email form. In the other case he would enter one on one chat with the administrator.

On the administrator end:
It could be web based interface that would show who is requesting a chat, the administrator then could choose to accept the individual calls. There should be also a sound indicator of incomming chat requests.

I need this as soon as possible, if anyone is interested, please send me your quotes. I could possibly create the interface but I need somebody to write the scripts (php, asp or whatever would work best for this kind of application.)

Thanks, Pavel

Hi Pavel,
this is not an easy task. Especialy because you need a powerfull socket server to do direct communication.

But there is a interesting product on the market, which even allows remote control and presentations on the clients computer. But this is not in flash. The user has to download another activeX component. The client side is partly in VisualBasic. This is why it is limited to PCs under windows OS Sad

Just have a look here: http://internet-conference.net

If you have further questions, I'd be pleased to present you the rooms.

Hi,

I have built something similar to what you are looking for, with a polling approach. There is a call waiting list for the admin, and a few chat windows - the admin would highlight a chat window's title bar  and then click a waiting call.
The client automatically transfers basic system parameters (system.capabilities from flash)
The whole thing is built with php, amf and mysql
You can see a prototype of the application at
client: http://wolfgang.remsnet.de/chat/
admin: http://wolfgang.remsnet.de/chat/chatm.swf
(To reply - as admin - write in the response box at the bottom and click the red button next to the appropriate chat window)

Hi Musicman,
The functionality looks pretty close. Would it be possible to adjust the size, text size and some graphics and additional things to fit it to the specs of my project? How much would it cost?
Can you email me? pavel@studio7d.com
Thanks. Pavel
