event listener - row index

hi everybody,
perhaps its a simple question, here it is:

let´s say i have a datagrid component, called "mcGrid". this grid has 14 rows, but only shows 8, and then scroll. using a event listener with "cellpress" like this one:

       var myListener = new Object();
   myListener.cellPress = function(event) {
      
      trace("row index is "+event.rowIndex);//this does not work

   }
   mcGrid.addEventListener("cellPress", myListener);


some body knows how can i trace de row index?
(btw 0 and 7 = 8 rows viewed at time)
