    XML-editor
    « on: 06/27/05, 11:34 »
    Hi.

I'm looking for a good XML-editor. It seems to be a lot of them but anyone I trie suffers from some disease.

The one I'm currently using is called "Peter's XML Editor" and has a pretty nice tree view mode but sucks anyway cause you can't copy nodes and there's no undo.

So. I'm interested to know about both free and comersial ones.

    Thank you!

It has actually been quite hard to get info about the same. Will take a closer look.

I just had a quick look at eclipse, btw. That's only useful for C++ and such languages right?

Altova's XMLSpy is excellent, but it's a bit expensive.
You can try XMLPad, which is free or XmlMarker.

I think XMLSpy the best XML editor. It is an advanced XML editor for modeling, editing, transforming, and debugging XML-related technologies. The XML editor delivers the power you need to create the most advanced XML and Web applications and allows flexibility at the same time too.

<oXygen/> is one of the best XML editors that many experts use. It is also the only XML tool that supports all the XML schema languages and it can be used with all major operating systems.

There is Altova's XMLSpy Home Edition which is free, just need to signup to get a license code. You can collapse/expand and use drop downs for enumerated lists, etc. XMLSpy is a professional xml editor with a lot of advanced features, Although the home edition has most of the advanced features disabled, it is unlikely that you would need them for what you would be doing here.

Liquid XML Editor is also very good for validating and data binding, the latest version even has an xml mapper function.
