Manohar : read Jeff's post. It's about apache .conf

yea, that (session_id) didn't solve your problem, but now you know what session_id is about..

I still have a problem. Apache had started for me the first time : I actually reinstalled it to star t correctly. So, the first time I started Apache server, an MS-Dos window opened and stayed in the task bar. But when I wanted to close the file, I wasn't able to do it correctly(without errors: I tried all MS-Dos commands). I presume that is the problem. So how do I close the MS-Dos file?

Hi Vesa
Sorry for the delay in responding -> school homework to do.
Basically I don't understand when you say "type in an address @ localhost". I tried going to http://localhost, but the browser gave me a default error page. So what do I do Huh

we all are busy sometimes, so don't worry

I mean, when u start ur apache, then open a browser and go to "localhost".. see if it's working. Ya know, after you got localhost site open, u can close apache ms-dos window without problems Smiley

When you got error page, did you have your apache ON (? stupid Question.).. How's ur apache config anyways... ?

Have nice weekend, it's FRIDAY!!! Smiley

Hey vesa,

I tried it but was not successful. I am now sceptic about my Apache working : I clicked on the Apache icon on the toolbar. It was with a red signal (which means it is not working). It opeed up to a window where I have the option to start Apache an PHPgeekUtil. But when I clicked on start, it said, "cannot find the specified file". what is the problem and how do I solve it(if i can) ?

may be there is a bug in a program (that what starts the apache.) Go to ms-dos and go to your apache folder..

(ie : c:\program files\apache group\....\apache\ )

and type: apache -k start.

it will start apache..

hrm.. hard to say anything else for now..  Undecided

if you don't know how to open folder in ms-dos, why you even start installing server to your pc..  Angry naw, it's all rite, im just tired now..

Hmm.. Open the apache folder in windows.. Click the "Apache.exe" .. Erhhh.. I dunno..

I really don't know what's wrong Sad no erros when you installed it?

may be you should re-install soon..

good night,
Vesa
