Yeah, of course study around before just jumpin' in to it.

if you have extra cd's & good bandwidth, you can try LIVE CD's.. (They don't install anything on hard drive, they just run OS from CD..that's good way to test for favorite linux)

let me know what you think about it, I haven't try Ubuntu myself yet but I heard lot of good about it and I'm sure I will go for it as soon as possible.

note: I should be easy to get started, even my dad (who's over 50+) got it installed  8)

    Hi Vesa,
I have successfully installed UBUNTU. Its too easy man, just like Windows installation, rather better because You just have only One click installation.Thats it.One click. Ofcourse if you want to customise then it takes more clicks. But Too easy for a novice too. It even detects your hardwares. If you do not know whats your keyboard type, it asks you to type out certain keys and depending upon that It decides what is your keyboard type.
Well, since I have tried a lot of Linux live cds on KDE environment, it took me sometime to get aquinted with the GNOME of UBUNTU but not much hassel. It rocks.

    Thank you
