Flash Tutorial  to Static Tutorial..... :).!

I was looking around the web for a simple means to enable a eCard facility on my website. Most of the available systems have extensive features requiring a database.

I would not have a need to send a huge number of cards. Some 2 or 4 cards would give visitors to my site a choice. The Flash eCard tutorial at  http://www.flash-db.com/Ecards/EcardsTutorial.php?  seems that it might adapt to facilitate and enable such a task.

Just tried the demo at http://www.flash-db.com/Ecards/ to my Gmail address. Flash eCard does not arrive! Probably something minor! It would be good to see it arrive so as to complete the demo.

The question that I am seeking feedback on is this.... would it be a major task to convert the Flash eCard script to send simple static .jpg cards ?  ???

Thanks in advance for any encouraging comments/directions and do have a Merry Christmas.  :)

How did you try this functionality?

    How ist your hosting configured?

In this section youl find tons of advices for handling issues sending mail.

It realy depends very much on the php version and configuration of the hosting.

I may not have made my question clear and that is my fault.

The question that I was seeking feedback on was this.... would it be a major task to convert the Flash eCard script to send simple static .jpg cards ? I was thinking along the lines of finding a solution to enable a simple eCard facility on my website. With the aid of the tutorial I was forming the opinion that I could achieve such a solution and learn something in the process.

The functionality refered to the  http://www.flash-db.com/Ecards/ demo as when I try it, it does not deliver to my email address. The demo looks great but was not being delivered to my email address. Being that it is just a demo, it probably is not meant to be delivered.....!

This tutorial is one of the oldest tutorials you can find at this site.

If you look into the loading and saving tutorial and then into this one, you will know, what to do to modernize it ;)

If you have a direct question, just ask.

Your goal is reachable with flash and php.
But you have to make some things clear with your hosting provider.

Some hosting providers changed the process for sending mail via script, to prevent from sending spam.
