Pop up windows not working on certain setups

I'm experiencing a problem and I'm wondering if anybody could help me...

I successfully got pop up windows working custom sized, at first using code in html and passing varibles from flash,  but then found out from others that the buttons either did nothing or they got windows in the right proportions but with the annoying 'page not found message.  

So I tried the JS window coder on this site, I used the code and uploaded  and again the windows worked fine online on my machine, and a few others.  But not on all PC's, is their some sort of compatibility problem?  The stange thing is I can open the pop up HTML files using your Window App on all machines, but it doesn't seem to work when added to my site.

can some one help as this has been worrying me for a few days, and I don't want to resort to having a full window pop ups

Have you solved this?  If not.....

Have you thought about dynamicdrive.com's layers pop-up windows?  They are within the IE/NS6 original window and pop-up like a normal browser window.  And, if the browser isn't compatable, it reverts to the original Pop-up window.
