    Voting Polls
    « on: 04/15/03, 13:40 »
I'm trying to create a simple Voting Poll in FLASH MX and it's not going good.  I basically want it to look like the poll at the bottom right of http://espn.go.com/main.html

It doesn't need to have the animated bars at the totals. Actually the simpler the better.

If someon could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks

That web page didn't have what I was looking for.  I couldn't get the link below the bar graph to work either.

I am looking to use a self contained FLASH MX, Voting Poll.

If you're looking for components, try in http://www.flashcomponents.net/ or even in the Macromedia exchange

Is it possible to do a Voting Poll without using PHP?

There is always need for a back end scripting if you want do something else than chansing values setted by Flash itself.

Running poll system requides usually a back end (database or simple txt) where answers are saved and Flash can't save files so there is need for back end scripting (ASP,PHP,JSP ..)

yup i use php for all my backend scripting.  if your a dab hand with AS you will pick up PHP fairly quickly.
